In the Ayurvedic system of health, each season corresponds to an element and the qualities associated with it.

Observing the natural world during this season can reveal the essence of this specific seasonal cleanse.

Nature is an excellent teacher, showing us how to connect with ourselves through its colors, timing, and temperature.

From the deep sleep and darkness of autumn and the apparent stillness of winter, there is a gradual and gentle awakening beneath the ground as winter transitions into spring, affecting nature and so the entire system.

Life involves transitioning, and nothing explains and guides us through this process better than Ayurveda and Yoga.

The nourishing tools provided in this cleanse will lead you to a renewed relationship with yourself.

Addressing Vata Imbalance While Considering Kapha Symptoms

Late fall and winter are referred to as "Vata season" due to their similar characteristics to Vata: cold, dry, light, clear, and mobile.

Signs of Vata Season Imbalances include :

Dryness of skin, hair, ears, lips, joints -Roughness, especially skin and lips-

Dryness internally – bloat, gas, constipation, dehydration, weight loss

Dry and lightness of the mind – restlessness, dizziness, feeling ungrounded

Cold: poor circulation, muscle spasm or constriction, asthma, pain/aches, tightness

Light or disrupted sleeping pattern - difficulty to stay asleep

Excessive movement: anxiety, fidgeting, agitation, muscle twitching, palpitations

Approaching the Ayurvedic Cleanse

Embarking on a cleansing journey requires time and rest as the body and mind gradually adjust, particularly when seeking to restore balance to our lifestyle.

The process often unfolds gradually and with remarkable gentleness, allowing new practices to become positive, lasting changes in your routine post-cleanse.

Depending on your current life stage, this experience offers valuable insights for your next step in personal growth and awareness.

Process of the Cleanse: Step by Step

Upon submission of the registration form, participants will receive an email from the organizer, Maitri, to schedule the initial step of the cleanse: the Ayurvedic consultation.

(Scheduled between January 2nd- 14th)

During the consultation, an evaluation will be conducted to determine how the seasonal transition has affected the participant mentally, physically, and emotionally.

Based on the symptoms presented, the practitioner will customize a diet to support the participant's routine.

By adjusting the diet and incorporating a daily 60-minute practice of Kundalini yoga and meditation, both body and mind will be aligned harmoniously.

There are no specific dietary restrictions regarding food types or quantities unless the participant has significant health issues. The objective is to alleviate the Vata imbalances mentioned, enabling each participant to benefit from and learn through this gentle cleansing experience.

~ Moderation is key; maintaining the benefits is our priority ~

Some home made herbal remedies might be recommended based on bodily imbalances, to be used throughout the cleanse as necessary.

~ Important Note: The Herbal Cleansing Kit is not part of the cleanse price. A possible blend of herbs can be suggested during the initial consultation.

About the organiser:

Maitri is an Ayurvedic nutritionist and yoga teacher with a focus on addiction and relapse prevention.

Since 2009, Maitri has been residing in England, currently in Crouch End, London. It was here that she learned from a distinguished Sri Lankan doctor about nurturing the body and mind for graceful aging.

Maitri imparts her enthusiasm and expertise in Indian medicine, both in person and live online, to patients in England, Europe, the United States, and Canada.

This enhances the psychophysical well-being of her patients, who have gradually rediscovered the joy of living through achieving balance and understanding their own bodies.

Since 2015, Maitri has developed the Online Ayurvedic Cleansing program, featuring daily Kundalini Yoga sessions conducted seasonally.

This online program offers a personalized diet tailored to the individual's capabilities, daily Kundalini Yoga, and, in certain cases, a blend of detoxifying herbs focused on purifying the body and mind.

The cleansing program can be undertaken individually or in groups, depending on the participant's needs.

Currently, there are four annual cleansing cycles in England—in English—during Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter, with participants from across Europe, America, and Canada.

For those seeking an alternative self-care system, this is an opportunity to experience the ancient science of Ayurveda applied in a contemporary context to enhance overall well-being.

Testimonials

I have known Maitri for many years and I have done many practices with her: meditations, healing treatments, and seasonal Cleanse courses.. Each of these occasions has contributed enormously to my personal and spiritual growth, to my general psychophysical well-being and to the growth of my awareness and self-knowledge. Working with Maitri touches deep chords, with benefits that truly manifest themselves over time.

Gennj From Italy

The cleanse is a complete experience, with the practices and diet guidelines but also an individual health consultation to make the diet adapted to what I am needing right now in this season, and the morning group class live online is great fun!

I have done two cleanses now and each has been different and guiding me back to reconnect to myself, slow down and be mindful about how I spend my days. I would recommend participating and giving it a try. Maitri S.K has provided individual support that has been healing to my physical body as well as mentally reevaluating my habits.

I. M from Luxembourg

Maitri is a kind and loving guide. She offers support in an open-hearted way. It’s not easy to navigate through the body and food-related work. In Maitri I found someone I trust and enjoy speaking with. I will continue to touch into her expertise and hope you will too.

Salima From Toronto

I entered into this experience with an open mind and a heavy heart. I knew I had some healing to do. Maitri's kindness softened my heart and allowed me to be kinder to myself. Her modeling, guidance and care is real. The cleanse and meditation practice gave me permission to observe triggers and to let go of my reactive nature. In slowing down, listening and limiting distractions, the body tells you what it needs. The body is a reflection of the mind's condition; the mind seeks peace. It isn't about finding a cure, it's about finding balance, letting go and discovering the joy in living.

K.D From Savannah US

I have experienced quite a beautiful phenomenal journey with Maitri, developing and growing throughout to a healthier realm. Primarily upon meeting, I was overwhelmed with a heavy heart full of grief. I had physical discomfort managing my complex gynecological problems of uterine fibroids and endometritis. Working together we reduced my inflammation and swelling, stabilised my emotions and sorrow. I have attended several seasonal cleanses, Ayuverdic consultations. I had a series of 1-2-1 sessions and attend weekly meditation & pranayama classes.

Through kundalini yoga I have experienced wonderful spiritual connection, finding my bliss! Working with Maitri I have been moved physically, emotionally and spiritually - elevated. Maitri's kind encouragement, grace and wisdom have provided me a safe, enlightening healing space that has been nurturing, soothing and divine. I thank you Maitri with all my might for your blessings.

Catherine W. from UK I took part in the summer ayurvedic and kundalini cleanse with Maitri for the first time this year and am very pleased that I could be a part of this supportive and caring group of people. Maitri is an excellent teacher, providing information, tips, explanations and encouragement on many areas of Ayurveda and kundalini. Aligning the two is personally the perfect combination for feeding, motivating and healing the body, mind and soul, increasing awareness and mindfulness. After completing the 8 days I feel centered, content and at peace and will take part in the Autumn cleanse this year, something I can only recommend to everyone who feels the need to reassess their lives, their habits and themselves. Thank you Maitri for providing a safe and welcoming space for all of us.
